Questionnaire responses, notes, articles, and copies of letters and news clippings giving background data on the individual women who have served in the Minnesota legislature. Also includes preliminary information and directions for the book chapter; a copy of the original manuscript; and some general research about women legislators and women in politics. The materials were collected and used by Sue Holbert and Arvonne Fraser when writing their "Women in the Minnesota Legislature" chapter in: Women of Minnesota: Selected Biographical Essays. St. Paul : Minnesota Historical Society Press, 1977. A revised edition of the book was published in 1998.

The Center on Women and Public Policy was established in May, 1985 in the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, with Arvonne Fraser as senior fellow.
